I've had to wear a lot of hats in my over twelve years of real-world experience as a Web Designer and over twenty-four years as a Graphic Designer, whether it's updating or adapting existing materials, or taking projects from concept to completion, I'm the "value added" designer who CAN do it all!

I have the practical experience in a fast-paced marketing environment maintaining corporate web sites, building new sites from scratch, designing original graphics and logos, editing digital video and photography, and copy writing. As a contract designer I have to be prepared for whatever software a client might use. As a Mac professional, I'm fluent with Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, QuarkXPress, Dreamweaver, Pagespinner, coding for the web (xHTML, CSS, SEO and CMS); and I have a working knowledge of JavaScript, PHP, SQL, AJAX, Flash, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, GoLive, InDesign, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. I pick up new software skills easily and like to stay current on the industry standards.

Communicating with management and project leaders is a necessary "survival skill" for getting the job done. I've honed those skills as a corporate Webmaster working directly with the CEO, as Assistant Director of a New Media department dealing with both internal and external clients, and as a freelance designer working with a client's decision makers, and co-ordinating the efforts of teams assembled across departments or organizations. After decades in the design business I've "been there and done that," and that means I can do it for you. Say Goodbye...

I have deleted and closed the SwankLand Image Gallery and Blog. I never blog. I hate to blog as a matter of fact. And the image gallery was basically a pain. So goodbye to them. Eventually, there will be an all-new Swankland forum. When I have time. :D

Employed!

YAY! (Five months ago) I took on a full-time contract job which I really like! The people are great, the work is okay and the commute is just 8 miles. If you are looking for contract work...I highly suggest the Creative Group, they rock!
